The Littlest Sweaters

Went on a knitting rampage a few weeks ago and made 3 little sweaters for the baby... we still don't know if it's a boy or a girl, so I tried to pick some neutral colors and shapes. That gold yarn was dyed with locally harvested marigolds! Fun!

Weekend Crafting

Today is Sunday, and we have a day off! (Our last day off in awhile actually... Though we are still interviewing people to work in the shoppe, so send your resumes over!) Fall is here, the weather has been warm, and we're heading up to Sonoma to spend the day celebrating my sister's birthday with my whole family. We've been waiting for her birthday to fall on 10.10.10. for years, so this is an extra special one for her!

I've had the urge to do lots of crafting recently, and have been poking through our little stacks of supplies to see what can be made using stuff we already have lying around. First up- a set of 20 notecards using some wallpaper samples from our stash. It's been a couple years since we made the book and I still can't seem to stay away from wallpaper crafts!

My Dream Desk

(image from Taylor Stitch)

I first saw local woodworker Jared Rusten's remarkable furniture at a pop up men's market in the neighborhood a few weeks back. This California Desk is unbelievably beautiful. I could build an empire (or at least write a nice letter) sitting behind that thing.

Derek's First Sweater

It's not Everest, or a triathlon or anything....but it certainly was a lot of work, and a lot of fun! Can't wait to cozy up to a campfire in it....

Little Dog

A few months ago I sent a box full of stuffed animals and other crafts to Amy for her new book, Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People. This little dog was one of my favorites, and look! It's here on the preview cover for the book, which I just noticed is already available for pre-order on Amazon.

I'm not sure I can wait until November to see the whole thing!
